| Lake Isabel Gardens... so beautiful
and full of so many memories for me. The azaleas... first, I always
remember the azaleas. All those years that I lived away, when I thought
of home, I always missed seeing their early blooms.
And the fishing. Sooo many
fishing trips here with Grandma and Grandpa, and Mama and Daddy.
And, the weirdest thing... the only thing
you used in this lake was bread. Said that that was the
only thing those fish would bite. And, catch fish we did.
Not big ones, mind you, but many many fish.
Even I, with my little patience would sit with
cane pole in hand, because I knew that I'd pull a fish out every few minutes.
Now, I never see anyone down there fishing,
but there's lots of families that go picnicking and duck and
geese feeding.
A beautiful place to bring a picnic basket, a
good book, a lawn chair and just catch some rays. Very relaxing and
beautiful.
Directions: From the Courthouse (ask anyone
and they can tell you how to get to the Columbia County Courthouse) Take
the road that runs right in front of the court house and go south on it.
You'll cross 90 at the red light, and it's only a block or so down on the
left. Can't miss it. You'll also pass our city museum on the way,
be sure to stop in and learn a bit about our history. |
Create a memory with your children today.
Take them down to feed the ducks and geese.
Little things like this stick in their head a long time after they've grown
and left home.... |
